Compact Flash (CF) cards and Secure Digital (SD) are cheap (about $19 for a 64Mb card). If your Pocket PC has a slot for these cards, then they can be a convenient way to backup data in your Pocket PC.
When a flash memory card is installed in your Pocket PC, the contents of the card appear as a special folder under My Device (the root of the Pocket PC file system) when viewed using the File Explorer found under Programs.
Using File Explorer, you can navigate to My Device and then you should see a list of folders, one of which is My Documents. This folder contains all the data files produced by all the programs on your Pocket PC (including tuning files for TuneLab). You can copy the entire My Documents folder to the flash memory card, and here is how to do it:
Tap and hold on the My Documents folder (without lifting the stylus). This is equivalent to right-clicking in the desktop computer. A menu should appear. From that menu select Copy. This will copy the entire contents of the My Documents folder to the "clipboard". Now select the flash memory card. Using the Edit menu, select Paste. This will copy the entire My Documents folder and all its sub-folders (including all your tuning files) to the flash memory card. If you have several flash memory cards you can rotate through them so that your backup has some history, and you are protected in case you lose one of the flash memory cards, or one of the cards goes bad.
To restore individual files or the entire My Documents folder, just do the same thing in reverse. Navigate to the flash memory card and tap and hold to Copy the card copy of the My Documents folder. Then navigate to My Device and select Paste to copy the data from the flash memory card back to main memory.
